“…change is the only constant, and personal and organizational success can be measured by the ability to actively manage change.”

In May of 2023, Trang Chitakone assumed the role of Administrator for the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County.

Trang's journey into public health started in 2015 when she became the Business Manager for DOH-Pasco. In her first year, she quickly adapted to the demands of public health, responding to the challenges posed by Hurricane Irma. The subsequent year, Pasco County hosted an alternate special needs shelter in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. Trang also played an instrumental role during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past several years, she has diligently served as the Assistant County Health Department Administrator, overseeing operational and fiscal activities.

Trang holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. While employed at the health department, she furthered her education by earning a master’s degree in public health with a specialization in Infectious Disease from the University of South Florida in 2020. Trang actively participates as a board member in various organizations, including the Pasco County Opioid Task Force, Alliance for Healthy Communities, Continuum of Care, Early Learning Coalition, and the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board. She has also served as the President of the Business Managers Association.

Trang firmly believes in the principles of sound business practices, accountability, and the power of community partnerships as the core elements of success. She places great importance on understanding each staff member on an individual level and is dedicated to assembling a team that shares her passion for meeting the needs of our community.
