Internship – PAL Track

Florida Department of Health in Pasco County

Part-Time with Prior Assessed Learning (PAL)

About the PAL Track

The Florida Department of Health in Pasco County Dietetic Internship has a process for granting internship credit in specific rotations based on an assessment of prior learning in relationship to meeting the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) Core Competencies for the Registered Dietitian (RD). Applicants who are licensed as a dietitian/nutritionist (LD/N) in Florida and non-traditional students often bring knowledge and experiences that have been acquired in settings other than the traditional academic and supervised practice locations. For the Prior Assessed Learning (PAL) Track, an applicant's previous life experiences including work, volunteer, achievement or education may qualify them for PAL credit. Interns are self-directed for this track.
