The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) maintains a list of routine vaccinations recommended for adults.
The following vaccines are available at DOH-Pasco:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) (Gardasil)
- Flu (Influenza)
- Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR)
- Meningococcal (Meningitis)
Meningococcal vaccine is especially important for college students and certain travelers. - Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis (Tdap)
Even if you were vaccinated as a child for these illnesses, immunity tends to wane over time. Booster shots are often necessary to maintain adequate protection from these diseases, which in rare instances can cause deafness and even death. - Pneumococcal (Pneumonia)
Pneumococcal vaccine is a one-time dose for all 65 and over; an additional dose before age 65 may also be recommended for certain people with high-risk factors. - Rabies
The rabies vaccine is primarily recommended for anyone, regardless of age, who has been bitten by a potentially rabid animal or whose job puts them at higher risk for exposure to rabies (including veterinarians, animal handlers and certain laboratory workers). - Varicella (Chickenpox)
