Florida Department of Health in Pasco County

We offer volunteers a friendly and supportive environment. Hours are flexible. There are opportunities for year-round and seasonal residents. The staff and clients appreciate the time and effort our volunteers give. There is nothing more satisfying than to know that you helped make someone else’s life a little better. 

The Florida Department of Health in Pasco is looking for volunteers for various programs. If you are interested in supporting our community while learning more about local public health needs, please send an email to Pasco.Web@flhealth.gov  at your earliest convenience with your availability and we will provide additional details. Please note that all current volunteer opportunities take place during the week, during regular business hours. Below, you will find a list of available volunteer opportunities: 

Front Lobby Greeter 

Duties: 

 

Support the staff by greeting clients with a warm welcome, providing clients with directory assistance within the facility/surrounding buildings, and answering general questions and/or routing clients who can help meet their needs.  

Qualifications: 

 

Volunteers should have a friendly demeanor, good attitude, and enjoy helping others. Volunteers must be professional, polite, reliable, punctual, honest, and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Volunteers that have interest in public health and/or enjoy helping others are encouraged to apply. 

Minimum age: 

 

16 (If under the age of 18 parental consent must be provided). 

Program 

 

Administration 

 

Clinical Support Services Assistant 

Duties: 

 

Volunteer will support the staff with client appointment reminders and clients with directions within the facility, and customer service surveys. The volunteer will assist with organizing and maintaining CASS department files, updating process maps and policies and procedures. The volunteer will assist with designing, formatting and updating CASS program reports for online and printed publications. The volunteer will assist the Clinical Administrative Support Services (CASS) management team. 

Qualifications: 

 

Prior office and customer service experience is a plus. The volunteer must be professional, polite, reliable, punctual, honest and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must possess excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills.  Volunteer must have proficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.).

Step 2: Complete a Background Check (free of charge!) 

All FLDOH-Pasco volunteers must pass a Level 2 federal background check. 

Step 3: Get Trained 

Volunteers are provided with online and/or onsite FLDOH-Pasco orientation and trainings.
