Again, we ask that before coming out and ensuring a spot, please schedule that appointment ahead of time.

Why are mammograms important?

1 in 8 women will have breast cancer, and 8 out of 9 have no family history. However, when detected early, breast cancer has a nearly 100% survival rate. Regular yearly 3D mammogram screenings help with early detection and better outcomes. Early diagnosis reduces long-term absenteeism by treating the disease early when treatment is less severe.

Benefits of mobile mammography:

Convenience - Mobile unit is conveniently parked right outside your business or in your neighborhood which makes it convenient to not have to take time off work or travel far from home.

Who is eligible to receive a mammogram?

  • Any female that is 40 and older and has not received a screening mammogram within the past year. This will be considered their annual wellness screening mammogram.
  • Women under 40 years of age require a prescription from their doctor.
  • If you need diagnostic imaging, you will be unable to use this mobile unit as the bus provides a 3D SCREENING mammogram. You are not eligible to be screened on the mobile unit if you are currently experiencing symptoms in your breasts, or if you are currently pregnant or haven’t stopped breastfeeding for five months.

How much do mammograms cost?

  • If you don’t have health insurance, and are between the ages of 50-64, and are considered low income; We can review eligibility into the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP), and the BCCED Program will provide coverage at this event.
  • If insured, preventative screening mammograms are typically covered at 100% through insurance as part of an annual women’s wellness exam, there will be no cost to most patients.
  • Bring your health insurance ID card and Doctor’s information so the unit can send results to their office.
