The Office of Minority Health was established by the Florida Legislature, under section 20.43 (9), Florida Statutes, to administer the Closing the Gap grant program, per section 381.7356, F.S.

Led by Owen Quinonez, MD, the Office of Minority Health evaluates and awards grants, determines best practices, and maximizes the benefits of grants.
